...Ship's Cargo Inclinometer....Solid bronze ship's inclinometer instrument or "clinometer" mounted on a solid mahogany sweat board. This instrument was mounted up in the wheelhouse or bridge on the " dead center" line of the ship. A simple but effective method of keeping the ship level when loading cargo....Good sized setup measures 14x17 inches overall, polished and lacquer coated clinometer itself is 12x14 1/4 and about 1 1/4 inches thick overall. Brass and Tin Metal lantern was originally oil but we have converted this old salt to electric for shore use. Mounted on a slab of solid African mahogany and trimmed with manila deck line around the base...stunning light fixture that shows off its age with class. All metal parts lacquer coated....
